Modal Filter (LTN) Map

Low Traffic Neighbourhoods (LTNs) have grabbed the attention of many in the national media, often prompting polarising views on the pros (reduced road danger, improved air quality, more liveable streets, enables active travel) and cons (stop access for cars, increasing congestion on neighbouring streets, restrict emergency services, bad for local businesses). For the record, Bike Worcester are firmly on the side of the pros, mainly because there's little evidence to support most of the cons.Interestingly LTNs have been around for ages; another name for them is modal filters. Oh, and Worcester has loads of them...and no one is calling for them to be removed, because once they're installed the benefits are fairly obvious for those living on and travelling through the street (just not in a car).Which is interesting considering how much ridicule and outrage is generated if you suggest a new one.
