Position: Website developer

Project: North Worcestershire Active Travel Group support

Overview

Bike Worcester wants to leverage its website and content to support of other local active travel groups in Worcestershire: essentially replicating the amazing content and functionality for the benefit of other areas outside of Worcester City

We are looking for a web developer to work with the existing Bike Worcester website and create templates for other local groups to use. The project involves creating a new website with the same design, content, and functionality as our current site. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of website development principles, experience with Squarespace or similar platforms, and the ability to work independently to deliver a high-quality product.

Responsibilities

  • Replicate the existing Bike Worcester website, ensuring as many of the design elements, content, and functionality are preserved

  • Develop three boilerplate versions of the website for other active travek groups (e.g. Bike Droitwich, Bike Bromsgrove, etc.) with the ability to customise each site with unique branding and content

  • Ensure the websites are responsive and optimised for various devices

  • Implement SEO best practices to enhance website visibility

  • Conduct thorough testing to ensure website functionality and performance

Qualifications

  • Proven experience in website development, with a strong portfolio of past projects

  • Proficiency in Squarespace or similar website development platforms

  • Excellent understanding of HTML, CSS, and JavaScript

  • Experience with responsive design and cross-browser compatibility

  • Knowledge of SEO principles and best practices

  • Strong communication and collaboration skills

Timings and budget

Estimated time required: 2-3 weeks

Budget: £1,500 inc VAT

Additional notes

  • The developer will work closely with the Bike Worcester team to ensure the project meets our specific needs and requirements.

  • The final deliverables will include the replicated boilerplate versions for three new (or existing) active travel groups

  • The developer will provide documentation and training on how to manage and update the websites.
